Our musicians experience the enchanting world of sound at Johnson's Literary Depot, where every corner embraces the rich acoustics of literature. Whether playing in one of our small rooms, the main floor, or our patio, each space at JLD provides a unique sound to accompany your performance.

Who plays
Sessions are intimate, acoustic-friendly, and built around this region's musical history. We book new musicians and old favorites alike you don't need a following or a record to ask. Original work, traditional material, and everything in between is welcome.

We book one Session a month, so we're usually scheduling a few months out. Send us a note about what you play and a link if you've got one.

From the days of pickin’ on the porch to Johnson City Sessions to the Down Home, Johnson City has a rich musical history full of many genres, styles, and sounds. Sessions in the Stacks is a way to honor the history of our area and provide new musicians (and some old favorites) with a unique, warm, inviting environment to play an intimate concert for some of their closest followers and provide a platform for those looking for that next step.
